First Photographic Evidence of Snow Leopard in Dhauladhar Sanctuary

The Dhauladhar Wildlife Sanctuary in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, recorded its first confirmed photographic evidence of a snow leopard (Panthera uncia) via camera traps at 2,836m altitude. The snow leopard is classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, protected under Schedule I of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, and listed under Appendix I of CITES. This record confirms the coexistence of four apex predators in the sanctuary: Snow Leopard, Himalayan Brown Bear, Asiatic Black Bear, and Common Leopard.
